I am a Registered Craniosacral Therapist through the Biodynamic Craniosacral Association of North America.

This description for Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is paraphrased from their website:
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a hands-on art that works with the forces that create and maintain health in the human system. It has its roots in osteopathy and has evolved to include influences from advances in neuroscience, human development, prenatal and perinatal psychology, and trauma resolution.
BCST is a whole-body approach, working directly with the body’s natural capacity for self-repair.
RCSTs do not treat, diagnose, prescribe, manipulate or adjust.

After discussing confidential information, gathered from an intake form, and establishing an intention for the session, the client, fully clothed, rests comfortably on a massage table. RCSTs use an educated, gentle, non-invasive touch, always negotiated with the client, to listen for and support the expressions of health in the system. They follow the natural pace of the clients system. Each session aims to support nervous system balance, resilience, and a felt sense of inner resources.

My words: A session can feel similar to being in a meditative state. Being able to mirror the practitioner's settled nervous system, it can be easier for the client to be more in their body and less in thoughts. The nourishing, still and nonjudgmental field created in a BCST session reintroduces fluidity, possibility and choice to a body suffering from stiffness, pain, and rigidity.

I have found the work to be vital in processing old and recent undigested stress and trauma*, lessening pain and stiffness and bringing a sense of well-being that extends to all aspects of my life. I also schedule it to provide nervous system support around common stressors, such as surgeries, dental work, grief and loss.

*"Trauma may begin as acute stress from a perceived life-threat or as the end product of cumulative stress. Both types of stress can seriously impair a person’s ability to function with resilience and ease. Trauma may result from a wide variety of stressors such as accidents, invasive medical procedures, sexual or physical assault, emotional abuse, neglect, war, natural disasters, loss, birth trauma, or the corrosive stressors of ongoing fear and conflict."
